Originally serving with the RCAF’s 444 Air Observation Post and the Light Aircraft School, both at Rivers, MB, many of these aircraft were transferred to the Canadian Army for artillery spotting and light support duties. The aircraft were also used for pilot training. Others served with various RCAF units. Most Austers were taken out of service when the Cessna L-19 entered service.
