The majority of RCAF Starfighters were built at Canadair under license. Initially purchased to serve in a nuclear strike role, the Starfighter became a conventional strike and strike reconnaissance aircraft after Canada relinquished the nuclear capability. All CF-104As served in the Air Division in Europe.
