Originally purchased as a basic helicopter trainer, four Jet Rangers would serve in support of the United Nations’ Observer Group in Central America (ONUCA – Canadian name Operation SULTAN). The Jet Rangers was also used in the Dragonflies aerial demonstration team. The aircraft were retired in 1992 but were then brought back into service by the civilian contractors who took over basic helicopter training.
