Most of the RCAF’s Silver Star were built at Canadair under license. They were initially used for jet lead-in training at RCAF flying training schools and at RCAF Regular Force fighter squadrons and ten of the 12 Auxiliary squadrons. It would go on to serve in support roles, air armaments training and photo reconnaissance and serve with air demonstration teams and with the Royal Canadian Navy.
