After testing one Vampire, the RCAF would go on to accept 85 from the British government. They would equip five RCAF Auxiliary squadrons (plus another one briefly) and only briefly two Regular Force squadrons. The Vampire was quickly obsolete but was only replaced in Auxiliary service in 1956.
