In partnership with Trees for Life and their Trees for Heroes program, the Royal Canadian Air Force is planting trees in communities across Canada. These “RCAF Centennial Groves”, or commemorative public planting projects, will combine trees, shrubs, tulips, and other plants into meaningful configurations across Canada.
At least six communities from New Brunswick to Alberta will participate, with plans for “RCAF Centennial Groves” in at least four provinces. The “Groves” will serve as a tribute to the sacrifices of our RCAF personnel who have served our country proudly for 100 years. As part of the RCAF’s commitment to sustainability, these projects will help grow our tree canopy and help combat climate change while leading towards a healthier Canada for future generations.
Air Cadets and community members will plant the trees themselves, and you can expect a series of unveiling events throughout the spring and fall of 2024 as these projects are completed.
Stay tuned for more updates, as this project continues to grow!
